Avena sativa is the best tonic for debility after exhausting diseases. It has a favourable action on brain and nervous system, where it improves the nutritive function. Nervous exhaustion, sexual debility and a morphine addiction may require the use of this remedy. It is of great help when withdrawing from an addiction to alcohol, smoking, tranquilizers or other drugs and Antidepressants. It also helps to treat sleeplessness in the alcoholics.

It helps in cases of nervous disorders like chorea, paralysis agitans, epilepsy, nervous tremors in the aged, and post-diphtheritic paralysis. Also in nervous states in association with female problems. There may be a nervous headache at the time of menstrual period with burning on top of the head.

It helps treat Spermatorrhoea and impotency after too much indulgence. Also indicated in Amenorrhoea or dysmenorrhoea, where the circulation is weak.
