Description

Andrographis paniculata (Kalmegh):

Andrographis is an Indian remedy useful in all types of liver disorders with the keynote symptom of a general burning sensation especially in the palms. The patient washes hands and feet with cold water to ameliorate the burning. It is useful in resistant jaundice, torpidity of liver, neuralgia, dyspepsia, and in general debility.

In cases of Convalescence after prolonged fever, or a slow infantile fever also come under its action where the liver is deranged or enlarged. It is found to be efficacious in Kala-azar of infants.

Apart from that, it is also indicated in first stage of cold and cough with watery discharge from the nose and occasional sneezing. It is an anti-helminthic indicated in fully developed stages of dysentery.

It is also useful in Atherosclerosis and for the prevention of heart disease and Diabetes. It acts as an Anti-microbial, preventing intestinal infections, diarrhoea & general stomach upsets. It stimulates general immunity & prevents serious infections.
