Description

Leucorrhoea is a white, yellowish, or greenish-white viscid discharge from the vagina resulting from inflammation or congestion of the uterine or vaginal mucous membrane. A vaginal discharge is considered normal until there occurs changes in its characteristics like it turns yellow or green, develops an offensive odour, and is accompanied by itching, irritation or pain, which can be due to infection, hormonal imbalance or malignancy. It can originate from the vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes or most commonly, from the cervix. Leucorrhoea can be of following types: Physiologic leucorrhoea: It is a normal condition where vaginal discharge occurs within several months to a year of the onset of menses in adolescent girls and may be seen in new-born girls for 1-2 months. Inflammatory leucorrhoea: Inflammation of vaginal mucosa may result in a yellow leucorrhoea with offensive odour. Leucorrhoea after delivery with backache and foul-smelling lochia suggests failure of involution of uterus due to infection. Parasitic leucorrhoea: Infection with Trichomonas can result in a thick, white or yellow, frothy vaginal discharge with burning and itching of parts. Action of Ingredients: Calcarea phosphorica: Leucorrhea, like white of egg. Worse morning. Burning leucorrhea, albuminous from one term to another, follows pain in abdomen. Uterus, heavy, weak or aching. Kali sulphuricum: Leucorrhea, yellowish, watery. Menses too late, scanty,with sensation of a weight in the abdomen. Metrorrhagia. Kali phosphoricum: Horribly foul leucorrhea. Periodical discharge of copious orange colored fluid from vagina and rectum. Menstruation too late or too scanty in pale, irritable, sensitive, lachrymose females. Natrum muriaticum: Leucorrhea acrid, watery. White leucorrhea turns green gradually. Debilitating leucorrhea, white thick instead of menses. Bearing down pains worse in the morning. Menses irregular; usually profuse. Vagina dry.
