Description

Scrofula is the term used for a state where there is enlargement of glands like the lymph nodes, tonsils or the thyroid gland. Lymph nodes are located throughout the body and are visible only when enlarged or swollen. Various infections or other medical conditions can cause its enlargement. Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils which can cause its swelling and enlargement. It is most commonly caused by a viral infection but can also be caused from infection with bacteria. Action of Ingredients: Calcarea phosphorica: Calc-phos is indicated where there is a predisposition to glandular and bone diseases. Glands are swollen and enlarged in chlorosis and tuberculosis. Acute and chronic enlargement of tonsils. Ferrum phosphoricum: It is suited to nervous, sensitive, anemic persons. The inflammatory, febrile, emaciating, wasting tuberculosis. Tonsils are red and swollen. Kali muriaticum: It is of great value in catarrhal disorders in the sub-acute inflammatory states, fibrinous exudations and glandular swellings. There is efective action on hard indurated glands. Tonsils are swollen, inflammed with excessively painful swallowing, can hardly breathe. Silicea: Indicated for enlarged glands. There is slow, incomplete inflammation of glands, cellular tissue and skin followed by induration. Parotid glands swollen. Tonsils are swollen and suppurating.
