It is primarily a liver and spleen remedy causing soreness, pain and jaundice, and is indicated for haemorrhages due to affections of these organs. The haemorrhage usually relieves. Indicated for swelling of gall bladder with tenderness and hepatomegaly. There are stitches on the left side of stomach, near the spleen. Pain in liver region, where the left lobe is sensitive. Hyperemia of liver with jaundice and cirrhosis with dropsy also comes under its domain. Appetite is small, tongue is furred and there is nausea, retching and vomiting of green acrid fluid. Urine is cloudy and golden coloured.

It acts on veins causing blood stasis, varicose veins and ulcers. Diseases of miners associated with difficult breathing and asthma. Dropsical conditions depending upon portal congestion and congestion of pelvic organs. Haemorrhagic piles, prolapse of rectum, burning pain in the anus and rectum with hard, knotty and clayey stools. There is great debility and fatigue which is worse eating and riding, with frequent yawning.
