BAKSON URTICA AID TABLETS

Skin, the largest organ of the human body, is constantly exposed to a highly polluted and toxic environment. Dust, cosmetics, soaps, plants, sun rays etc. act as sensitising agents. People with poor tolerance are easily affected by these agents and their sensitised skin exhibits various kinds of skin disorders characterised by redness, eruptions, intense dryness and scaling. These ailments which arise as a result of over sensitivity are termed allergic disorders and are medically diagnosed under different names as Acne, Eczema, Urticaria, Dandruff etc. The common allergic manifestations are: Eczema/Dermatitis, Urticaria or Hives.

URTICARIA OR HIVES

Urticaria or Hives are itchy, burning swellings that appear on the skin as an indication of an allergic sensitivity to various allergens specially with a family history. The development of Urticaria occurs when the body releases histamines into the blood stream or tissues as an allergic response causing widening of the capillaries thereby allowing the plasma to escape through its walls resulting in swellings on skin surface.

Urticaria appears as red/white blotches on the skin accompanied by itching & burning.

They may disappear as suddenly as they come or they may last for several days.

1. Severe itching precedes the attack.
2. Eruptions of various sizes usually appear.
3. In a few minutes, eruptions may develop, spread, coalesce to form larger hives.
4. Any part of the body may be affected.

COMPLICATIONS : The most serious complication is the development of giant hives known as Angio-neurotic oedema. This condition appears on eyelids, lips or tongue accompanied by swelling. When the swelling is internal especially in the air-passage, it can lead to obstruction in breathing.

The action of each ingredient of is as follows :

Urtica urens: Itching blotches. Urticaria, burning heat with formication; violent itching. Rheumatism alternates with nettle rash. Erythema, with burning and stinging.

Apis mellifica: Acts on cellular tissues causing oedema of skin and mucous membranes. Erysipelatous inflammations, dropsical effusions and anasarca.
