The roots and rhizomes of Rauwolfia contain hypotensive and neuro-depressive alkaloids. It has a general and cerebral hypotonia. There is lack of tone in the nerves and circulatory system. Rapid, widespread trembling is present. Indicated for the Congestive vascular hypertensive conditions. Pallor alternates with redness and hot flushes. There is temporary rise and then fall in arterial tension, hypotension and faintness.

Indicated for Libido disorders, Dripping after urination, Insomnia after midnight, Heaviness in the legs. General stiffness, chronic allergic and neurotic conditions with development of Arthrosis or Depression.

There is uneasiness with irritability and apprehension. Memory and concentration reduced, phase of increased ability to work alternates with phases of fatigue and exhaustion. For maniacal depressive psychosis.
